Eduard Ellwein

Eduard Ellwein (born September 26, 1898 in Madras , British India , † June 15, 1974 ) was a German Evangelical Lutheran theologian and pastor.

Life

Ellwein was born in 1898 as the son of an Evangelical Lutheran missionary in East India. From 1924 to 1926 he was city vicar in Munich- Sendling . In 1926 he was the travel pastor. Then from 1926 to 1948 pastor in Munich- Solln and Augsburg. From 1949 to 1965 he was a professor for the New Testament at the Augustana University in Neuendettelsau ; he was a full professor and deputy rector. From 1956 to 1963 he was also the rector of the pastoral college in Neuendettelsau.

Eduard Ellwein, married, was the younger brother of Theodor Ellwein , also a theologian; his nephew was Thomas Ellwein .
