BELECTRIC is a company from the solar industry that was created in 2011 from the merger of Beck Energy GmbH, S&F Umwelttechnik GmbH and Blitzstrom GmbH. At the end of August, RWE International signed a purchase and assignment agreement with BELECTRIC Holding GmbH to take over BELECTRIC Solar & Battery Holding GmbH. After the approval of the Cartel Office and the implementation of corporate law changes, the takeover was completed on January 1, 2017.
The BELECTRIC group of companies generated sales of around 570 million euros in 2012. The company headquarters are in Kolitzheim near Schweinfurt, and there are branches in 10 countries. BELECTRIC has more than 100 registered patents in the energy sector. The group of companies was founded in 2001 and has so far built over 280 turnkey open-space solar power plants with a total of over 1.5 GWp photovoltaic output.
Products
BELECTRIC primarily builds and develops ground- mounted solar power plants , energy storage systems and photovoltaic roof systems. Large parts of the cable and power distribution systems, the inverter technology , the real-time monitoring systems and the substructures are manufactured in-house. In addition to the development and construction of energy systems, the company also offers technical O&M (Operation and Maintenance) / MRO services to ensure power plant operation. BELECTRIC has been classified as the third strongest O&M service provider worldwide according to O&M overall performance (Bloomberg New Energy Finance PV O&M Index 2015).
Since the beginning of 2016, the company has been producing modular battery storage power plants in series, which are primarily intended to be used for frequency control. The battery storage systems are marketed under the product name Energy Buffer Unit (EBU). The prototype was installed in the Alt Daber solar park in 2014 . In addition to Germany, the systems are also to be sold in other European countries and the USA.
