The Bellingshausen Point is a headland on the north coast of South Georgia . On the southeastern bank of the Bay of Isles , it separates the entrance to Sea Leopard Fjord in the west from that to Beckmann Fjord in the east.
The American ornithologist Robert Cushman Murphy mapped them on his trip with the brig Daisy (1912-1913). Murphy named it after the Baltic German seafarer Fabian Gottlieb von Bellingshausen (1778-1852), one of the early explorers in Antarctic waters.
