Belo Monte is a small town on Príncipe in the Pagué district in the island state of São Tomé and Príncipe . In 2012 there were 75 inhabitants.
geography
The place is located on the northeast tip of the island, about 4 km as the crow flies from the main town of Santo António . There are several beaches on the north coast in the vicinity ( Praia Banana , Praia Macaco and Praia Boi ). The place itself lies above the steep north coast at heights between 100 m and 140 m .
The place should not be confused with Monte Belo on the neighboring island of São Tomé .
