Ben Arous ( Arabic بن عروس, DMG Bin ʿArūs ) is a city in Tunisia about 12 km south of Tunis and the capital of the governorate of the same name .

The city has 88,322 inhabitants ( 2014 census ), 39.7 percent of whom are employed. The immigration rate is 90.6 percent and the school enrollment rate 97.2 percent.

Infrastructure

For Ben Arous, the port city of Radès, about ten kilometers to the northeast, is of economic importance.
