Benjamin McCully Crane (born March 6, 1976 in Portland , Oregon ) is an American professional golfer of the PGA TOUR .

At the age of five he learned to play golf from his grandfather. After attending the University of Oregon , he became a professional golfer in 1999 and won a tournament on the second-ranked Nationwide Tour in 2000 and 2001 . Crane got the right to play the big PGA TOUR from 2002 and won his first title the following year at the BellSouth Classic . In 2005 he won his second tournament and in February 2006 Crane was the best placed, youngest American in the golf world rankings . At the Open Championship in July 2006, he reached an impressive eleventh place.

In June 2014 he recorded his fifth win on the PGA Tour to date.
