Ben Gahlert (born February 17, 2000 ) is a German basketball player . He is on the squad of Limestone College in the United States .

career

Gahlert played football as a teenager and played as a coach under his father. At the age of 13 he began his basketball club career with Noris Baskets . At first he practiced the two sports at the same time, with his move to the youth department of the Nürnberg Falcons BC (or its predecessor club rent4office Nürnberg) he put his soccer boots in the corner and turned his attention entirely to basketball.

With the start of the 2016/17 game year, Gahlert made the leap into the squad of regional league team TS Herzogenaurach , the cooperation club of the Nuremberg Falcons. In the 2017/18 season, in addition to his appearances in the youth division and in Herzogenaurach, he recorded the first minutes of play for the Nuremberg team in the 2nd Bundesliga ProA . In the 2018/19 game year, in which he was promoted to the basketball Bundesliga as ProA runner-up with Nuremberg , Gahlert played 15 games and scored an average of 0.3 points per match.

For the 2019/20 season, he moved to Limestone College in the US state of South Carolina to play in the second NCAA division and to complete a degree.
