Career

Until 1945 Bouchaïb, who grew up in what was then French-occupied Morocco, wore the jersey of the RA Casablanca . The midfielder then played for FUS de Rabat before moving to metropolitan France in 1946 and at the age of 22 found an employer in the first division club Olympique Marseille . For this he made his professional debut when he was called up on August 18, 1946 in a 1: 4 defeat against the Stade Français . From then on he was regularly called up and at times had a regular seat, which he lost again at the beginning of the 1947/48 season. During this season he was only four times on the lawn, but these missions earned him a membership in the championship team in 1948, as his club won the fight for the national title.

Immediately after the championship, he turned his back on Marseille in the summer of 1948 and signed with league rivals CO Roubaix-Tourcoing in the north of the country. In this, he was regularly used until he went to the second division SO Montpellier in 1950 . There he was a regular player in a team that was promoted to the elite class in 1952. With six hits, he achieved his best goal yield in the promotion season. Although he was also one of the top performers in the first class, he rose with the team in 1953 as bottom of the table and then left the club. He found a job with the second division club FC Grenoble until he returned in 1955 to SO Montpellier, who also played second class. For this he continued for a year before he ended his professional career in 1956 at the age of 32 after 91 first division games with seven goals and 120 second division games with 15 goals. He then played in the amateur area and was active during the 1958/59 season for a club from Arles when he was banned for life because of an attack against a referee.
