Ben Weisman
Ben Weisman (born November 16, 1921 in Providence , Rhode Island , † May 20, 2007 in Los Angeles ) was an American songwriter and pianist .
Life
Weisman, who initially studied classical piano, was one of Elvis Presley's most important and successful songwriters since the mid-1950s. He has written almost 60 tracks for Elvis Presley , including Follow that Dream and Rock-a-Hula Baby , which became world hits and won gold or platinum records . Titles for numerous films with Presley also come from the pen of Weismans, whom Presley always called The Mad Professor ( the mad professor ). Weisman also wrote songs for Barbra Streisand , the Beatles and Johnny Mathis .
Will You Still Be There was the last song written by Ben Weisman for Elvis Presley, but it was no longer published because Presley died earlier.
Weisman died at the age of 85 in a hospital in Los Angeles from complications from Alzheimer's disease .
