Ben Youngs (born September 5, 1989 in Cawston , Norfolk ) is an English rugby union player . He plays as a scrum half for the England national team and the Leicester Tigers .

childhood and education

Youngs grew up in a rugby family. His father Nick Youngs was also a half-scrum, his brother Tom Youngs Hakler . He played for the U20 national team, with whom he reached the final of the Junior World Championship in 2009.

Career

Youngs was first used in April 2007 in the English Premiership for the Leicester Tigers. At the time, he was the youngest league player of all time. In the championship final against Gloucester he was substituted on, the Tigers won the game. In 2009, 2010 and 2013, Youngs became a master three times. For the 2014/15 season he was appointed captain of the team.

National team

The Youngs made his national team debut at the 2010 Six Nations against Scotland . He made his first attempt in his third international match against Australia . In 2011 he won the Six Nations with England and was nominated for the World Cup . In 2013 he was accepted into the squad of the British and Irish Lions and was used in two games of the test series against Australia. In 2015 he was again part of the English World Cup squad . At the Six Nations 2016 he won the Grand Slam with England. In 2017 he was supposed to play for the Lions again after winning the Six Nations , but had to cancel his trip to New Zealand due to family reasons. In 2019 he was nominated for his third world championship .
