Benamar Meskine

Benamar Meskine (born June 6, 1973 ) is a former Algerian boxer .

Career

Meskine won respectively the gold medal at the African Championship in 2001 in light middleweight, the African Championship in 2003 welterweight and the African Olympic Qualification 2004 welterweight. He was also a silver medalist at the 2001 Mediterranean Games in the light middleweight division and a bronze medalist in the welterweight division at the 1998 African Championships, the 2003 African Games and the 2003 Afro-Asian Games.

At the 1997 World Championships in Budapest he reached the round of 16, the preliminary round at the 1999 World Championships in Houston and the second preliminary round at the 2003 World Championships in Bangkok .

At the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens he lost in the first fight against Vanes Martirosyan .
