description

The neo-classical Benarty House was built in the early 19th century. It is the seat of the Briggs-Constable family . It is isolated on a sprawling estate about 1.6 km northeast of Kelty and southwest of Ballingry . The north-east exposed main facade of the two-story Corps de Logis is three axes wide. An Ionic portico with a crowning triangular gable emerges in the center. On both sides, one-story pavilions run along the side façades, which are connected to the Corps de Logis via short blind walls. The building edges are designed with rusticated corner stones . The final platform roof , or the hip roofs of the pavilions, is covered with slate.

The manor is located at the main driveway around 100 m north of Baenarty House. It was built around 1840. A lintel showing the year 1632 does not originally come from this building. Four elongated buildings enclose an inner courtyard on all sides. The two-story building on the east side stands separately, while the one-story building has a U-shaped floor plan. On the main facade, which is exposed to the west, a flat central projection with an archway slightly protrudes from the facade, through which the inner courtyard is accessible. Behind the triangular gable above is a pigeon house . A round horse peg is in front of the north side .
