Bence Fritzsche

Bence Fritzsche (born October 10, 1947 in Bonn) is a German historian (MA), journalist and publicist.

Life

Fritzsche grew up in Bonn as the son of the Hungarian writer Ágnes Mária Csiky and the business journalist Herbert Rolf Fritzsche (including "The economy in Germany and its relationships with the world" , Hamburg 1936). After graduating from high school, he studied Eastern European History and Political Science at the University of Cologne from 1970 to 1976 . From 1977 to 1980 he worked as a freelancer for Deutsche Welle , Deutschlandfunk, Westdeutscher Rundfunk Köln (WDR) and various newspapers and magazines. Subsequently, he was press officer of the German University Association (DHV) in Bonn until 1985 , where he was editor-in-chief of the magazine “Mitteilungen des Hochschulverband” and was in charge of the book series “Forum des Hochschulverband” and “Schriftenreihe des Hochschulverband”.

In 1982 he founded Atelier Verlag in Cologne and has been the editor-in-chief there ever since. The publisher also owns the “Atelier” magazine and, since 2008, the “kunst: art” newspaper and the “Kunnst” magazine. Fritzsche and Olaf Zimmermann have been holding professionalization seminars for visual artists since 1992. Since 2004 he has also been head of the Kunstwerte: Akademie in Cologne.

His brother Rainer Jon Fritzsche is a former theater director.
