Alfred Muff (born May 31, 1949 in Lucerne ) is a Swiss opera singer ( bass baritone ).

Live and act

Alfred Muff studied at the Lucerne Conservatory until he was introduced by the director there, Rudolf Baumgartner, to the opera singer and pedagogue Elisabeth Grümmer , who took him to the Berlin University of Music . There he studied for five semesters, at the end with Irmgard Hartmann . In 1973 he began his artistic career at the Lucerne City Theater in the role of Minister in Fidelio. After seven instructive years, his path took him via Linz and Mannheim back to Switzerland and Zurich, where he has been a permanent member of the opera house since 1984 . As an internationally sought-after singer, he gives guest appearances at all important opera houses and concert halls in the world, such as B. Vienna State Opera , Musikverein and Konzerthaus in Vienna, Salzburg Festival , State Opera Munich , Hamburg, Berlin, Dresden, Scala di Milano , Opéra Bastille de Paris . In 1993 Muff was awarded the Art and Culture Prize of the City of Lucerne .
