Wang Chuanfu

Wang Chuanfu ( Chinese  王傳福  /  王传福 , Pinyin Wáng Chuánfú ; * 1966 in Wuhu , Anhui Province ) is an industrialist in the People's Republic of China . He is the founder and President of BYD Company Ltd .

Life

Wang Chuanfu was raised in a farming family. His parents died in childhood, so he was raised by his brother and sister. He studied chemistry at the Central South Industrial University of Technology . Wang Chuanfu received his master's degree from the Beijing Non-Ferrous Research Institute in 1990 .

Act

From 1990 onwards, Wang Chuanfu worked as a researcher in a state-owned company, but was dissatisfied with the limited financial resources. Therefore, he started his own business in 1995. His start-up capital, borrowed from relatives, was $ 300,000. He started to produce rechargeable batteries in a small factory with 20 employees in Buji Town , a town in the Longgang district of the Chinese city of Shenzhen .

In 2003 he bought the ailing , state-owned automobile manufacturer Xi'an Tsinchuan Auto Co., Ltd. and founded the subsidiary BYD Auto .

Varia

On the billionaire list of Forbes Magazine he takes in 2018 with an estimated fortune of 5.2 billion US dollars in place 372. This puts him in 40th place on the list of the richest Chinese.
