Benedetto Benedetti (* in the 16th century; † 1629 or 1636) was an Italian Roman Catholic bishop .

biography

As a member of a patrician family , he was appointed Bishop of Caorle on August 18, 1609 . In 1619 he consecrated the church of the Carthusian monastery Vedana .

He became known for banning certain traditions, which is why there were disputes with the cathedral chapter , which had to be settled before the Patriarch of Venice Francesco Vendramin (and his successor Giovanni Tiepolo ). The controversy ended with the dissolution of the cathedral chapter, which was only reconstituted under Bishop Castellari.

Benedetto Benedetti ended his episcopate in 1629, it is not clear whether by death or by resignation.
