Benedict van Laack (born October 10, 1997 in Cologne ) is a German basketball player . He has been playing for RheinStars Cologne since 2014 .

career

Van Laack played in the youth team of BBV Köln-Nordwest, in 2014 he made the leap into the men's team of RheinStars Cologne and won the championship title in the first Regionalliga West with the Rhinelander in spring 2015. The Cologne team skipped the 2nd Bundesliga ProB and started the race in the second-highest German division, 2nd Bundesliga ProA , the year after the regional league triumph . Van Laack succeeded in securing more and more game shares in the Cologne squad after initially only recording short appearances. In July 2017 he signed his first professional contract with Cologne. After the team withdrew from the second division at the end of the 2017/18 season, he played with the Cologne team in the 2nd Bundesliga ProB from 2018/19 and in the 1st regional league after relegation in 2019. In the 2019/20 season he became champions of the 1st Regionalliga West with Cologne, whose game operations were prematurely stopped in March 2020 due to the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus . Van Laack contributed to the Cologne success in the 2019/20 season with 8.5 points / game.
