Benedikt Turudić (born January 27, 1997 in Giessen ) is a German - Croatian basketball player.
career
Turudić was born in Giessen to Croatian parents and began playing basketball at the age of six. During his youth he also played soccer, handball and tennis. He played for Giessen in the youth basketball league , then spent the 2014/15 season in the youth department of the Croatian capital city club Cedevita Zagreb and moved to Alba Berlin in 2015 . He was in the Bundesliga squad of the "Albatrosse", but did not get a chance in the top German division, but was used in the second Berlin men's team (first regional league) and in the U19 youth team.
After a year in Berlin, Turudić went to Central German BC in the 2nd Bundesliga ProA . With the "Wolves" he rose as a ProA champion in the first division. On the way to the title he was used in 17 games at MBC and scored an average of 1.9 points per encounter. In addition, he collected match practice in the first regional league, where he wore the jersey of BG Bitterfeld-Sandersdorf-Wolfen 06 , the MBC cooperation club. During the summer break of 2020, at Turudić's request, he and the MBC separated. At the end of August 2020 he signed a contract with Bundesliga club BG Göttingen , the duration of which was initially limited to three months.
National team
Turudić was initially appointed to the Croatian junior national team and then to the German team, with which he participated in the U18 European Championship in Greece in the summer of 2015 .
