Benedikt Welter

Benedikt Welter (* 1965 in Neuwied ) is a German Roman Catholic priest and pastor .

He studied Catholic theology and philosophy in the cities of Trier and Salzburg . Welter was ordained a priest in 1991 .

After his chaplain years in Saarbrücken - Dudweiler , Benedikt Welter was assistant to the German Liturgical Institute in Trier.

From 1996 he was pastor of the Catholic University Community of Trier and has been pastor in the city of Saarbrücken since 2005 and dean of the dean's office in Saarbrücken since 2010 .

Since January 23, 2016 he has been active as a spokesperson for the ARD program Das Wort zum Sonntag .
