The building Benediktinerstraße 5 is a listed residential building in Magdeburg in Saxony-Anhalt .

location

It is located on the south side of Benediktinerstraße in the Buckau district of Magdeburg in a corner position to Bleckenburgstraße, which opens onto Benediktinerstraße to the east of the house. The building, which is also listed, is adjacent to Benediktinerstraße 4 to the west. The latch runs directly north of the house, between the building and Benediktinerstraße . To the north is the Klosterbergegarten .

Architecture and history

The three- to four-story building was built in 1902 according to plans by Lorf, who also designed the neighboring house at Benediktinerstraße 4. The building is representative designed in Art Nouveau forms and has a bay window and a tail gable .

In the local register of monuments , the house is listed as a monument under registration number 094 71018 .

As the southern end of the Klosterbergegarten, the building is considered significant in terms of urban planning.
