history

The residents of the Bischa parcel built the chapel in 1886, a man named Jenny from Schlins has been handed down as the master builder . On October 11, 1888, it was designated, on October 12, 1890, the Way of the Cross was established, and on October 24, 1892, it was finally consecrated.

It is believed that in both world wars at least one of the two bells had to be given for war purposes, but there is no documentary evidence of this.

In 1975 the chapel was completely renovated inside and out.

Furnishing

The altar with the image of Saint Benedict

The altar in the apse was made by a carpenter from Blons in the Romanesque style. The picture above the altar, painted in 1887 in Einsiedeln Abbey, shows Saint Benedict presenting the rules of the order. The two small ornamental altars to the left and right of the choir arch, also in Romanesque style, have wooden statues carved by Dominik Demetz from Val Gardena , depicting Mary and Jesus .

The ship can accommodate around 48 people.

Two bells hang in the helmeted tower. The larger one with a diameter of 69 cm was cast in 1921 by the Grassmayr bell foundry in Innsbruck , the smaller one from 1950 by the Oberascher bell foundry in Salzburg and has a diameter of 53 cm.
