The parish church of Düns is a Roman Catholic church in the municipality of Düns in Vorarlberg .

history

The parish church, consecrated to St. Anthony the Abbot , stands in the south of the village and is surrounded by a cemetery. In 1426 a chapel was built as a branch of the parish in Schnifis and a church was consecrated in 1496. 1824 Expositurkirche the church was extended and increased by the master carpenter Josef Häusle 1,831th The church tower was built in 1833. The church was elevated to a parish church in 1842 and incorporated into Einsiedeln Abbey.

Plant and equipment

The parish church with a nave under a gable roof with a retracted choir with a straight end under a lower gable roof has a tower and a two-storey sacristy in the north.

The ceiling painting of the Assumption and corner medallions Salome with the head of John the Baptist and the Fall of Man , Esther before Ahasver are by the painter Georg Troxler from Lucerne from 1906. The high altar from 1682 shows the altar painting St. Achatius by the painter Father Rudolf Blätter OSB from 1907. The upper picture The Annunciation , as well as the altarpieces on the left and right side altar, are by Melchior Paul von Deschwanden from 1854. The pulpit with sound cover from 1800 shows the four church fathers on the basket. The crucifixion group on the left nave wall is by the sculptor Ferdinand Stuflesser around 1900. The holy water font on the southern outer wall was built in 1828.

On the south side of the choir is the Gohm grave with a Mount of Olives Christ from the beginning of the 19th century.

The organ was created by Reinisch-Pirchner in 1964 .
