Benis ( Persian بنيس, transcribed as Benīs ; also known as Benīz and Biniz ) is a village in the municipality (dehestan) Guney-ye Sharqi, in the central Bachsch of Shahrestan Shabestar in the Iranian province of East Azerbaijan . At the 2006 census there were 1,422 people in 455 families. Most of the people living there live and work in Tehran .
