Benjamin Behrla

Benjamin "Benny" Behrla (born August 31, 1985 in Emsdetten ) is a German judoka ( 2nd Dan ).

Benjamin Behrla has been practicing judo since 1992. His first club was Koriouchi Emsdetten , where he was trained by Horst Bruns. He later started for TSV Hertha Walheim , where Andreas Reeh , Oliver Rychter, Frank Wieneke and Daniel Gürschner were his coaches. In the Bundesliga he started for SUA Witten . Behrla was a police chief candidate with the federal police and was promoted there in a competitive sports project. In 2004, he finished third in both the German U20 and the international German U20 championships. A year later he achieved this placement in the German senior championship. In 2006 he won the title of German champion for the first time and was third at the U23 European Championship in Moscow . In 2008 he was at the European Championship in Lisbon win kg and for which the bronze medal in the weight category up to 100 Olympic Games of Beijing qualify. Here Behrla sat down in the internal qualification among others against the bronze medalist of the Games of Athens , Michael Jurack through. In China, he finally reached ninth place. In 2010 Behrla was able to confirm the bronze medal at the European Championships in Vienna.
