Benjamin Kern (born November 5, 1983 in Göppingen ) is a German football player .

Career

In his youth he played at FC Uhingen , VfB Stuttgart and SSV Reutlingen 05 , before playing for TSV Schönaich in the association league from 2003 . From 2004 Kern played in the Regionalliga Süd for SV Darmstadt 98 .

For the 2006/07 season he moved to the second division FC Augsburg , where he immediately became a regular player and completed 33 season games in the first year and 25 in the second year. In the winter break of the 2009/10 season , the contract was terminated after he had not played in the first half of the season. He then moved to Rot Weiss Ahlen in January 2010 and was relegated with the club at the end of the season. For the 2010/11 season he signed a contract with MSV Duisburg .

In the summer of 2013, Kern ended his professional career due to health problems and played in lower-class amateur football, initially for TSG Young Boys Reutlingen and since 2016 for 1. FC Heiningen.
