Benjamin Pinkus

Benjamin Pinkus (* 1933 in Warsaw ; † 2014 ) was an Israeli historian and social scientist .

Benjamin Pinkus emigrated to Israel in 1950. He received his doctorate from the Sorbonne in Paris in 1970 . He taught at the Ben Gurion University of the Negev in Beer Sheva . Pinkus is considered to be one of the best western experts on the Jewish minority in the USSR.

In 1994 he received the Bialik Prize , Department of Science of Judaism.
