Benjamin Samuel Philipps
Sir Benjamin Samuel Philipps (* 1811 in London ; † October 9, 1889 ibid) was an English entrepreneur, champion of Jewish emancipation in England and Lord Mayor of London from 1865 to 1866 . Among other things, he was President of the Hebrew Literary Society and Vice President of the Anglo Jewish Association .
On December 28, 1866 he was knighted as a Knight Bachelor .
