Benjamin Schindler

Benjamin Schindler (* 1971 ) is a Swiss legal scholar.

Life

Benjamin Schindler was born in Germany. He finished school in Bern in 1990 with the Matura. He completed his law studies in 1996 with a degree in law , followed by a doctorate in 2002. jur. (Walther Hug Dissertation Prize 2002) and in 2005 the University of Oxford awarded him the degree of Magister iuris . From 1998 to 2000 he was assistant to the constitutional lawyer Georg Müller at the University of Zurich . This was followed by a position at the Swiss Federal Office of Justice until 2004 . From 2003 to 2008 he was a lecturer in public law at the University of Zurich. Since 2008 he has held an SNSF professorship at the University of Bern . In 2010 he became professor for public law at the University of St. Gallen with a special focus on administrative law and procedural law.

Schindler is a substitute judge at the State Court of the Principality of Liechtenstein . In the army staff of the Swiss Army he is an officer in law and conventions.
