Benjamin Valsecchi
Benjamino Valsecchi (born July 10, 1928 ; † May 8, 2008 in Ticino ) was a Swiss gymnast and founder of the charitable clown group "Team Benefico".
Life
The trained stonemason was a gymnast at Unione Sportivo Ascona . He and his club won 33 Swiss championship titles in section gymnastics and won numerous disciplines in the Schaffhausen Munotcup in the late 1980s .
In 1995, “Mino” Valsecchi founded the clown group “Team Benefico”, with which he collected 360,000 Swiss francs (220,000 euros ) for children with cerebral movement disorders and the Swiss Paraplegic Foundation from more than 400 performances .
