The Benninger AG based in Uzwil is an internationally active Swiss textile machinery manufacturer . The company develops and produces machines and systems for textile finishing and cord production , which it offers as complete system solutions. Benninger has many years of experience in the automation of machines and systems, which is also used successfully in other branches of industry.
history
The brothers Heinrich, Jakob and Ulrich Benninger took over Ulrich Bretscher's mechanical workshop in Uzwil for the production of mechanical looms in 1859. From 1870 embroidery machines and turbines (under the name Vogt & Schaad ) were produced; a foundry, today's Benninger Guss AG, followed in 1873. From 1900 the company also began to export abroad. With the establishment of a subsidiary in Italy in 1979 an international expansion began, which was continued in the first half of the 1990s with the establishment of further foreign subsidiaries. In 2005 a management buy-out took place together with Swiss financial investors . In 2008 the weaving preparation division was sold to the German Karl Mayer textile machine factory . In August 2016, JMBT Beteiligunen AG, a subsidiary of Jakob Müller Holding AG, took over 100% of the share capital of Benninger Holding. With this acquisition, Jakob Müller AG is expanding in a related business area and wants to benefit from Benninger's process know-how.
