Benno Schmoldt

Benno Schmoldt (born December 10, 1920 in Berlin ; † September 6, 2006 there ) was a German teacher , high school councilor and professor of educational science in Berlin.

Live and act

Benno Schmoldt attended the state Luisengymnasium in Berlin-Moabit from 1930 to 1938 , graduating from high school in March 1938. Then he registered for the Reich Labor Service. From 1939 to 1944 he was a soldier, most recently as a reserve lieutenant in the German Wehrmacht and from 1944 to 1946 as a prisoner of war in the United States.

In 1947 Schmoldt began studying at the University of Hamburg, while from 1947 to 1951 he worked in the press and radio department of the Kurt Schumacher office in Hanover. From 1948 to 1951 he continued his studies at the University of Heidelberg and graduated with the state examination for scientific teaching at secondary schools (subjects German, history and geography). From 1952 to 1954 he was a research assistant for German Philology at the University of Heidelberg. Schmoldt received his doctorate there in 1953 (subject: "The terms of the abstract in Meister Eckhart's vocabulary "). In 1955 he passed the second state examination. After that he practically worked as senior director of studies, then as head of the study seminar Berlin-Reinickendorf and finally as high school councilor at the Senator for Schools Berlin, technical supervision for the subjects German, history and social studies at grammar schools. 1966 - 1976 teaching position for education at the Free University of Berlin. 1969 - 1976 consultant for teacher training at the Berlin Senator for Schools; From 1966 until his appointment, Benno Schmoldt was a part-time lecturer at the PH Berlin. There he became a professor of educational science in Berlin-Lankwitz in 1976 . After the Berlin Pedagogical University was closed, he went to Freie Universität Berlin in 1980 until his retirement in 1989.
