Benny Simonsen

Benny Simonsen (born December 28, 1983 in Odense ) is a Danish automobile racing driver .

Career

In 2010 Simonsen took part in the British Abarth Trofeo 500 for eight races on a Fiat 500 for Pulce Racing . In the opening race at Oulton Park he finished second behind Gareth Howell in the first run ; third in the second run. The next race weekend at the Silverstone Circuit he finished sixth and eighth. He did not take part in the following two racing weekends at Cadwell Park and Snetterton . Taking part again in an event at Silverstone, Simonsen finished twelfth in the first race and sixth in the second race. In the following races at Brands Hatch , he dropped out in both races. He did not take part in the season finale in Monza . In the final classification, Simonsen finished eighth overall with 70 points.

In 2011 he took part in the Danish Renault DTC Light Cup and came third overall.

In 2012 Simonsen started for JWA-Avila (Porsche Endurance Racing Team) in a Porsche 997 GT3-RSR in the FIA World Endurance Championship . In the 6-hour race in as-Sachier , he scored half a point; and thus rank 89 in the drivers' world championship.

His brother was the racing car driver Allan Simonsen .
