Bente Varlemann

Bente Varlemann (born December 15, 1985 ) is a German author and poet .

She grew up in Lower Saxony and has lived in Hamburg since 2005. There she studies folklore, cultural anthropology and German. She is a member of the Lesebühne Randale & Liebe in the Hamburger Schauspielhaus and the Lesus Christ reading stage . Since 2006 she has appeared on poetry slams and German-language reading stages and has received prizes for her works. Varlemann took part in the German International Poetry Slam in 2008 and 2009 . She had television appearances on the Slam Tour with Kuttner ( Sat.1 Comedy) and on Lauter Lyrik ( NDR ). On April 18, 2013, she took a clearly anti-sexist position with her text "Was ich haben", which was broadcast on zdf.kultur.

Bente Varlemann writes poetry and poetic prose. Together with Carmen Wegge she appears as “Le Poonie”.
