In February 2014, NASA announced a large database for tracking polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in the universe that also includes benzo [ a ] fluoranthene. Scientists suspect that more than 20% of the carbon in the universe is in the form of PAHs. This makes them possible starting materials for the creation of life. PAHs were likely formed shortly after the Big Bang and were distributed across the universe.
