particularities Tunnel Berg Bock , memorial stone "Dead Men"

The mountain Bock is a 681.5 m high mountain in the western urban area of Suhl in Thuringia .

The mountain Bock is located on the corridor border of the Albrechts district and the northwestern neighboring town of Zella-Mehlis . The Berg Bock motorway tunnel on the Federal Motorway 71 was named after the mountain .

The mountain Bock is used for forestry. The “Dead Men” memorial stone is located near the summit. There are various details about the historical background of the memorial stone. The tradition about the two carters, Aegydius Hofmann and Johannes Günther, who died of the plague in 1682, sounds very likely .
