The Wettelrode mining trail is an educational trail for copper slate mining in the Mansfelder Land, opened in 1993 . The path symbol is a white square with a green dot. The nature trail partly runs parallel to the karst hiking trail .

The mining nature trail begins and ends at the Röhrigschacht ; but it can also be boarded at any other station.

The mining nature trail consists of a small and a large circular route. The smaller circular route can hike in 30 minutes and looks at the objects by mining activity at the outgoing of the copper shale seam ( abandoned mine ). The large circular route is 5 km long and can be hiked in about 2 hours. It deals with material evidence of copper slate mining from the 14th to the 19th century.

The lowest point is about 245  m above sea level. Above sea level , the highest at about 354 m above sea level.

The educational trail is run by the Röhrigschacht mining museum and the Bergarbeiter Sangerhausen e. V. supervised.
