Ramsbeck mining trail
The Ramsbeck mining hiking trail is a hiking trail with a history of mining in Ramsbeck , a district of Bestwig in the Sauerland . The path complements the Ramsbeck visitor mine .
The hiking trail was opened from 2010 to 2012 by the Friends of the Sauerland Visitor Mine Bestwig-Ramsbeck e. V. designed and laid out and has a length of ten kilometers. In four sections, the hiker is brought closer to the former lead and zinc mining operations in the village.
Funding for the mining trail came from the European Union's LEADER funding program . After approval by the Arnsberg district government, funding of 19,609 euros was received as part of the “4 in the middle of the Sauerland” project. For the remainder of the financing, donations amounting to approx. 20,000 euros were collected from private individuals, businesses and banks.
