exhibition

The mining museum shows the history of the Ramsbeck and Sauerland ore mining with the help of the permanent exhibition in the Kauen and administration building from 1953, which was redesigned between 2013 and 2015. It includes many exhibits (including machines and mineral collections), interactive stations (fire setting, machine control station) and a film.

In the visitor mine, information is provided about the breakdown of lead and zinc. The original mine train takes visitors 1.5 km into the mountain. 300 m underground , experienced miners talk about their work back then in old tunnels . You can also see the world's largest underground conveyor drum at the time of construction.

The Ramsbeck mining trail opens up further attractions on the subject .

Since 2019, the visitor mine has been listed as a station in theme route 12: History and Present of the Ruhr of the Route of Industrial Culture .
