House while

Haus Weile , today Landhaus Grum , was an aristocratic seat in Hattingen on the northern bank of the Ruhr . The main house is a two-storey building made of quarry stone with classicist style features and a crooked hip roof. It was rebuilt in the 20th century.

history

The Weile house was first mentioned in a document in 1298.

In the 17th century, the Bröckelmann family owned the Haus Weile estate. Johannes Bröckelmann (* 1634; † 1702) is mentioned as the owner of Haus Weile around 1680. He had probably inherited the handsome house and estate from his mother. His eldest son Johann Caspar Bröckelmann (* 1665; † 1699) died before his father and his wife Margaretha Elisabeth Maercker (Märker) inherited the house and lands of the farm Weile after his death. In his second marriage, Maercker was married to Johann Heinrich Severin (* 1652; † 1721). After her death in 1766, the 95-year-old bequeathed the estate with all its property to her granddaughter Dorothea Margaretha Basse (* 1745; † 1818), who married Julius Philip Heintzmann in 1770. So the estate came into the possession of the Heintzmann family through marriage . On September 30, 1778, the son Johann Heinrich , who later became director of the Essen Mining Authority, was born at "Haus Weile" .

After the death of the granddaughter Basse / Heinztmann, the youngest son August took over the estate. In 1845 the estate was offered for public sale ... The wife of the landowner Heinztmann for a while intends to sell her tenant house, two stories high, and her Ruhrkahn to the public.

In the 20th century, the property belonged to Henrichshütte or Ruhrstahl AG . In 1960 the company provided an outbuilding to the Angler-Sportverein Henrichshütte e. V. available. In 1962 the farm was made available to the DLRG's local group in Hattingen . The lease agreements with both associations were terminated in 1997 when the steel mill was closed. Today the property is used as a catering center. In 2011 it was included in the Route of Industrial Culture.
