The Bergfriedhof Pöstlingberg is a Linz cemetery and is located on the Pöstlingberg in the Puchenau municipality. It covers an area of around 4000 m². The cemetery is operated by Linz AG and administered from Urfahr urn grove .

history

The Pöstlingberg cemetery has also existed since the Pöstlingberg parish was founded in 1785. Until the construction of the Maximilian Tower Fortification in Linz in 1831, it was located near the church, roughly in the area of today's rose garden. Since then, it has been located on Hohe Strasse near Freisederweg. Originally the parish was the operator of the cemetery, which had transferred it to the city of Linz and Linz AG.

The numerous wrought-iron grave crosses are characteristic of the cemetery . This goes back to an old resolution of the parish, which is still valid today, according to which wrought iron crosses are to be preferred.
