The Berggasthaus Schäfler is an inn on the Schäfler summit of the same name in the Swiss Alpstein Mountains.

The Schäfler is located in the Swiss canton of Appenzell Innerrhoden in the Schwende district . The mountain inn is located in the immediate vicinity of the summit at an altitude of 1920 meters and dominates the summit of the mountain. The inn provides an opportunity for a stop on the way from Ebenalp to the Säntis summit. It can be reached on a mountain hiking trail from the mountain station of the Wasserauen – Ebenalp cable car . This leads through the Wildkirchli cave . The inn can also be reached by a mountain hiking trail from Seealpsee . You can stay overnight in the Berggasthaus Schäfler. In addition to single and double rooms, the hostel offers a camp with 74 beds in bunk beds. The mountain inn was built by Franz Dörig in 1913 and 1914. All material, both food and drink, had to be transported to the top of the mountain by mules . In 1969 a cable car was put into operation from Lehmen. The mountain inn has had electricity since 1972, generated by diesel emergency power generators.
