The Berliner See is a lake in the municipality of Buggenhagen in the Vorpommern-Greifswald district . It is located about one kilometer west of Buggenhagen and is surrounded by arable land. The lake has a north-south extension of about 450 meters and a west-east extension of about 130 meters.
After the dementia lake (26 m), the Berlin lake is one of the deepest lakes in Western Pomerania with a maximum water depth of 16 meters .
The lake, which was originally clear, has been clouding over the last few years due to over-fertilization, especially in the summer months. The responsible municipality is currently examining whether the State Office for Agriculture and Environment (StALU) Western Pomerania could act as a funding provider and project supervisor.
