The Bermudafunk (own spelling bermuda.funk ) is a free radio from the Rhine-Neckar triangle around Mannheim and Heidelberg, which is operated by the registered association Free Radio Rhein-Neckar . The bermuda.funk is organized in association with the other Baden-Württemberg independent radio stations in the Association for Free Social Radio (AFF). At the federal level he is a member of the Federal Association of Free Radios (BFR).

history

The Free Radio Rhein-Neckar initiative was founded in 1998 . In October 1999 the initiative went on air for the first time under the name festival.radio at the 48th International Film Festival Mannheim-Heidelberg for eleven days on VHF. The regular bermuda.funk program has been broadcast in Heidelberg since autumn 2000 and in Mannheim since December 2003 . The broadcast studios are located in the Alte Feuerwache cultural center (Mannheim) . On July 21, 2008, bermuda.funk was licensed by the State Office for Communication Baden-Württemberg for a further eight years. On November 20, 2010, the station celebrated its tenth anniversary with a big show in the old fire station in Mannheim.
