Bernard Reichel
Bernard Reichel (born August 3, 1901 in Montmirail , † December 10, 1992 in Lutry ) was a Swiss composer and musician .
Life
The son of a pastor of the Moravian church in Lausanne studied in Basel composition with Hermann Suter and organ with Adolf Hamm , later with Émile Jaques-Dalcroze and William Montillet in Geneva and at Ernst Levy in Paris. In 1925 he returned to Geneva, where he worked from 1944 to 1971 as an organist and from 1952 to 1972 as a music teacher at the Jaques Dalcroze Institute . There he made friends with Frank Martin .
In addition to a large number of church vocal and organ works, he also left chamber, orchestral and stage music.
The Bernard Reichel Association in Geneva has existed since 1988 to maintain and promote his work .
