The Bernard Rocks are a group of cliff rocks in the Palmer Archipelago west of the Antarctic Peninsula . They are located on the northeast side of the Brabant Island between Davis Island and Spallanzani Point .

The first mapping took place during the Fourth French Antarctic Expedition under the direction of the polar explorer Jean-Baptiste Charcot . Aerial photographs taken by Hunting Aerosurveys Ltd. made between 1956 and 1957, were used for further mapping in 1959. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1960 after the French physician Claude Bernard (1813–1878), who made important contributions to the understanding of digestion, the function of the liver and experimental toxicology.
