Bernd A. Chmura

Bernd Archibald Chmura (* 1953 in Burg (near Magdeburg) ) is a painter , draftsman and graphic artist , also known as Archimura, who lives in Potsdam .

Life

After training as a decorator from 1969–1971 in Magdeburg , Bernd Chmura studied from 1973–1978 at the University of Graphic and Book Art in Leipzig . Since 1978 he has worked as a freelance illustrator and caricaturist in numerous publications and became a member of the Association of Visual Artists of the GDR . 1986–1988 he studied as a master class student with Werner Klemke at the Academy of Arts of the GDR . Then Bernd Chmura worked as a freelance graphic designer, illustrator and cartoonist and worked a. a. 1992–1994 as a graphic artist for the Potsdamer Kabarett am Obelisk. 2001–2003 he took over the chairmanship of the Brandenburg Association of Visual Artists (BVBK) and was a member of the gallery advisory board. Bernd Chmura currently lives and works as a painter, draftsman and graphic artist in Potsdam.
