Klaus Möckel

Klaus Möckel (born August 4, 1934 in Kirchberg in Saxony ) is a German writer , editor and translator .

Life

He first learned the trade of tool fitter. He later studied Romance studies in Leipzig and then worked as an assistant at the University of Jena . He wrote his dissertation on Antoine de Saint-Exupéry ( The role of civil society in the formation of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's worldview , Leipzig 1963).

Möckel then worked as a lecturer for Romance literature in Berlin . When publishing house people and world , he soon made a name as an editor, translator and Nachdichter especially modern French poets .

Möckel has been working as a freelance writer since 1969 . Of his more than 30 published works of different genres ( novels , short stories , satirical poems and aphorisms ) was among others hope for Dan (1983), disclosed a report of a disabled child. He has also published successful crime novels ( Three Bottles of Tokaier ), which were translated into Czech and Slovak and also made into films (see below), as well as books for children and young people .

Möckel often worked with his wife Aljonna Möckel , especially on translations, and together with her, under the pseudonym Nikolai Bachnow, wrote several volumes on the fairy tale novels by Alexander Volkov . He lives in Berlin.
