Blaulicht was a series of magazines for crime stories published in the GDR . Initially four issues were published per year, later usually eight. From 1958 to 1990 over 280 issues were published. The last issue is numbered 285.

history

Up to issue 16 the series was still called a story from the work of the criminal police or from the work of our criminal police (e.g. issue 15), from issue 17 then blue light . The booklets first appeared in the publishing house of the Ministry of the Interior and from 1963 in the publishing house Das Neue Berlin . Most of the actions take place in the GDR.

The authors of the series included (chronologically according to the first publications of the booklets) Werner Schmoll , Dorothea Kleine , Günter Prodöhl , Wolf D. Brennecke , Günter Teske , Martin Selber , Erich Loest (as "Hans Walldorf"; "Bernd Diksen" is controversial, possible is also Werner Dembski ), Otto Bonhoff , Tom Wittgen , CU Wiesner , Heiner Rank , Wolfgang Mittmann , Barbara Krause , Kurt Türke , Rainer Fuhrmann , Jan Eik , Hartmut Mechtel and Jan Flieger .

Depending on the number of pages, the booklets were sold for 0.25 marks (around 30 pages) and 0.45 marks (around 60 pages). The respective page number was achieved by formatting the text (usually adjusting the font size). While the first issues (1 to 100) were still published in a 20 × 14.5 cm format, this changed from number 101 to 16.5 × 11.5 cm. With the format change, the well-known cover design with a black background was also introduced. From issue 13, the issue was started to be labeled with a number on the title. In issue 17, the blue light logo was introduced on the cover.

Since 1994 a new series of blue-light thrillers has been published by the Kremkauer Block-Verlag. The numbering began from "001" with the publishing of novel booklets. Starting with the double edition 025/026, Block-Verlag published paperbacks under the blue light mark. The booklets have drawings or graphics on the cover, the paperbacks have photos.

From 2009, the publishing house Das Neue Berlin - old novels as double editions in the format 11.6 × 17.9 cm - published again.

The New Berlin collective editions were published several times in book form.
