Wolf Dieter Brennecke (born September 28, 1922 in Magdeburg , † June 3, 2002 in Thale ) was a German writer .

Life

The son of the writer Bert Brennecke attended elementary and trade school in his hometown, was an apprentice businessman and, from 1941, a soldier in World War II. In 1941 he joined the NSDAP . After being seriously wounded in 1944, he was taken prisoner of war . After 1945 he was a transport worker, coal trimmer and printing clerk. From 1949 he lived as a freelance writer in Magdeburg and later in Halberstadt.

For a time (from 1953) he headed the Magdeburg Young Authors ' Working Group , in which Brigitte Reimann was one of the first young authors , and led courses for writing workers at the TH Magdeburg , in which Birgit Herkula , Jörg Mantzsch and Matthias Biskupek took part. Between 1958 and 1963 he was chairman of the GDR writers' association in the Magdeburg district . In addition to numerous articles in the features section (especially for the popular voice ), plays, radio plays, novels, thrillers and books for young people, he also wrote the scientific and fantastic novel The road through the jungle .
