Dorothea Kleine (* March 6, 1928 as Dorothea Morawietz in Krappitz , Upper Silesia , † January 9, 2010 in Cottbus ) was a German writer .

Life

Dorothea Small worked for a study of Journalism from 1948 to 1961 as an editor at various newspapers of the GDR . After that, she mainly worked as a court reporter. She has been a freelance writer since the early 1960s . She wrote a number of detective novels and between 1968 and 1985 ten scenarios for television thrillers on GDR television , including 3 for Polizeiruf 110 and 4 for The Public Prosecutor Has the Word . One of the particular successes in her work is the biographically shaped novel “The beautiful bit of life” (1985). In it she creates a phase of her own love and disappointment under the burden of lifelong severe heart disease. Neither before nor after are her subjects limited exclusively to socially determined criminal cases, which she deals with literarily. As a notable late work, the thriller “Paradise is elsewhere” (2009) fits in with the series of successful novels and stories.

The author, who lived in Cottbus for decades, represented the interests of her colleagues as chairwoman of the local writers' association, which dissolved after 1989. Dorothea Kleine received the Carl Blechen Prize from the Cottbus district in 1974 ; In 1988 she was the town clerk in Saarbrücken .
